Quote from S14 DRIFT :For us DFP users, feel lucky. Manhandle a XRT around KY NAT REV for 20 laps and then you know what pain is!

Im worried about when i get a G25, with 2 motors, that will be armwork....

15 laps around AS Historic in the FO8 will make you pretty tired, too. I think I tense up when I drive that car or something, I can feel it in my arms after one lap...

The skid pad should definitely be smooth, that's an area specifically for car testing. But I think the parking lot should be bumpy as heck

Well, I just went against all my principles, and better computing instincts, and downloaded a screensaver...

It's really really cool. Especially if you're not quite sure how an engine works. The detail is impressive, I'd recommend it.

I actually wish it was a movie, and not a screensaver, so it would be easier to show people.

I've been driving a lot in autocross lately, I was thinking. I've never been to a parking lot that was billiard table smooth. They're usually pretty bumpy, and have slopes for drainage. I think making the the Autocross lot/ BL car park reflect this would add an interesting new demension to autocross racing. More parking lots would be pretty cool, too, in different shapes, not just rectangles. It's fun to see how the different layouts make use of the space.

I'd also like to see light poles in the parking lots, but that's another matter entirely

I don't think he meant removing the chicane entirely, just having a layout where the red barriers weren't there. BL Historic if you will. I imagine it being something like the long right hander at the bottom of the hill in AS Historic, vs. the left right complex of AS GP. I don't know for sure, but I think those barriers would be pretty easy to remove, you can even drive on the track between them.

I'm +1 for this idea, if for nothing else than it would be a bit of a change.

I've always braked with my right foot. I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. I've tried with my left, and it just feels so odd.

I find it funny how many people who are "purists" brake solely with their left foot. I wonder how many left foot brakers actually use LFB in real life?

By the way, my real car is an auto, so it only has two pedals, and I brake with my right foot there, too.

Quote from liveforspeed.net :There are two types of licenses your account can hold:
- S1 license, allows you to unlock the S1 portion of LFS S2
(S1 licenses are no longer sold)
- S2 license, allows you to unlock the entire content of LFS S2

So they don't sell S1 licenses I guess.

I really miss them too. Maybe we just need to ask Victor, that's all we needed for the avatars...

I'm not particularly fond of forced pitstops. IMO it adds nothing to racing, as you're not trying to conserve tires or fuel to get to your optimal pit window, you just pit when you feel like it. I don't know about other people, but on forced pit races, I turn the fueling all the way down, and the tire replacement threshold all the way up, so no work gets done to my car. At this point, it's more of a forced stop/go penalty than forced pit.

I would, however, like to see accelerated fuel/tire usage rather than forced pitting. That would put all the fun elements of pitting back in, and actually give you a reason to pit.

I had a couple forums wish me a happy birthday last year, but somehow, the one from the LFS forum here felt more... real. It's probably because you can personally talk to the devs, it really is neat, I think.

Quote from Bergade :And you only went then because I really wanted to go to the movies, and I paid for your ticket...

Hey, I really wanted to go to the movies with you, too. And it's not my fault the theater didn't take credit cards I tried

I've only ever been on one motion simulator. It was at the Subaru booth at the Minneapolis auto show, running Gran Turismo. Even with a DFP with no spring left in the pedals, and a somewhat iffy sim, it was an absolute blast. A Subary Legacy GT around Deep Forest raceway has never been so fun. I can't even imagine what the 301 and LFS would be like, it would be amazing...

Well, this thread settles the deal for me I thought it looked really good, plus I like anything Pixar. Off to the theatre I go!!

I think I need to... I haven't watched a movie in the theatre since "Stay Alive"

I have that same problem. For me it seems to only happen when I plug my wheel in with the PC already running. If the wheel is plugged in when I start the PC, everything's fine. Sometimes I lose calibration when I alt+tab out of the game, too, but that makes sense, I think.

It's not a huge issue, but it can be mildly annoying. It can also be tough to turn the wheel lock to lock in the pits with, say, an FXR
